Altera to Deliver Breakthrough Power Solutions for FPGAs with Acquisition of Power Technology Innovator EnpirionAltera today announced it has signed a definitive merger agreement to acquire Enpirion, Inc., the industry’s leading provider of high-efficiency, integrated power conversion products known as PowerSoCs (power system-on-chip). Altera and AppliedMicro will Cooperate on Joint Solutions for High Growth Data Center MarketAltera and Applied Micro Circuits Corporation, today announced they have signed a memorandum of understanding designed to result in the joint development and marketing of optimized solutions for data center applications. Altera Expands OTN Solution Capabilities with Acquisition of TPACKAltera today announced it has agreed to acquire TPACK, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Applied Micro Circuits Corporation. TPACK delivers complete FPGA-based OTN products targeting packet and optical networking equipment suppliers. The acquisition enables Altera to accelerate and expand its OTN solutions roadmapto support the increasing pipeline of customer designs resulting from Altera’s successful acquisition in 2010 of Avalon Microelectronics, a leading OTN IP provider. Altera to Build Next-Generation, High-Performance FPGAs on Intel’s 14 nm Tri-Gate TechnologyAltera and Intel Corporation today announced that the companies have entered into an agreement for the future manufacture of Altera FPGAs on Intel’s 14 nm tri-gate transistor technology.
